Pescado Hoki

Extended body, laterally compressed, with a point-shaped caudal end, because the second dorsal and the anal fin come together in a diphycercal-type caudal fin. The back has a dark blue color and the flanks are paler, almost grayish. This species displays a great mouth provided with strong and sharp teeth in both jaws and vomer (end part of palate). Short pectoral fin projected beyond the furrow that separates the first dorsal fin from the second, located much more for-ward than the origin of the anal fin.
